We really enjoyed getting lost in this maze of tunnels and pathways. The view it offers on the wonderful Rhein valley would be cause enough for visiting the castle.
It's hard to convey how cool I think this place is. At it's core, it's just the ruins of an old castle that you can walk around. I've brought many friends here and they've all come away with the same feeling. Visiting this castle is time well spent. They give you a guide at the door, but I would recommend... 更多
We came here with our children (9 and 11 years old). It was the perfect adventure for them. We followed the guide that they gave us for exploring. There was some informative history of the castle. We brought along flashlights (as the website suggested) and were able to explore the tunnels on the lower levels of the castle which our... 更多
The castle is easily accessible by a "train' from the center of Sankt Goar for a few euros round trip. Otherwise, it's a bit of a hike up to the castle from the town. There is a map of the castle and grounds and an easy-to-follow tour route. The views from the castle are amazing! Bring a flashlight and explore... 更多
This castle gives a great view of the battlements and towers of a small castle. Has great walking trails to it and around it. This was my favorite castle in Germany.
While it is easy to overdose on castle ruins in Germany, this is one of the best. Get the Rick Steves' app for a walking tour and don't forget to bring small flashlights (a good investment for trips to Europe anyway). With a flashlight, you can explore the tunnels and prisons underground. A word of caution; the ground is quite... 更多
Yes it's a ruined castle, but fascinating to roam around even on a rainy afternoon. The views are great. Followed Rick Steves guidebook for more details.
You can hike up or park in the lot up top. Get a ticket from the machine to park 2 euro for an hour. Three people went and man said to get the family ticket as its a better deal at 10 euro. They'll give you a map. We walked around 45 minutes so we could get back down and... 更多
It is a worthwhile trip from town and the view from the top is impressive. Entry to the castle itself is only 5 Euros. I went on a weekday morning and the entire place was 99% empty. The castle is in ruins but the staff there has done a fine job explaining what was what. One word of advice: the... 更多
