It is a fascination complex about 15/20 minutes gentle stroll from Place D'Armes. On the way to the lace museum have a wander around the town hall gardens and the impressive statue of the Six Burghers by Rodin. You can do as much as you like (no guides) but make sure you see the Nottingham built looms in operation.

A charming museum and I learned an awful lot - good local place to visit. Price is reasonable and the passion they feel for their product is inspiring. They make AMAZING quality stuff.

We also learned a lot about Calais which has an intriguing history. Lace machines were smuggled to Calais from Nottingham. Sad that Nottingham makes so little of its lace history whilst... 更多
This museum is easily recognised by the modern façade which is bolted on to an earlier structure, a lace-making factory that ceased to operate as such a few years ago. It is by the Quai du Commerce, about 4 or 5 blocks from the Place du Théâtre. The map on the publicity brochure is not very helpful unless you are... 更多
