The interior of the Basilica is rather dilapidated with quite a few cracks visible the rather slender Corinthian columns can't have helped. The highlight is the crypt which has been restored to a high standard with a variety of religious paraphernalia on display. The crypt has links to " Jose de San Martin " who was a rather important figure... 更多
Im not religious, but I decided to pop in a admire the architecture, I was very impressed followed up by visiting the surroundings too, I definitely recommend the oysters and champagne at the local oyster bar opposite the market area.

Popped in on a grey June afternoon. The inside of the basilica is breathtaking. Well worth a visit. A combination of lunch, a stroll around the remparts and a visit inside Notre Dame made a very pleasant afternoon in the old town of Boulogne.
