This museum is an absolute gem. It takes you backwards in time, through artefacts discovered off the nearby coast, from the 19th-century conflicts with Britain, all the way back to pre-history. The majority of exhibits and the most interesting pieces come from the Greek and Roman periods which are very interesting because this area was influenced by a huge number... 更多
If you find yourself in Cap D'Agde, this museum is definitely worth a look. It's small, so we got through it quickly (in about an hour).
We visted in the morning. It is only open 10-12 and then 2 - 5 on most days. I think it is open at weekends as well. It cost us €6 for seniors and we each hired an audio guide. It was all very interesting and it was amazing to see how much had been recovered from the wrecked cargoes.... 更多
Excellent interpretation of historical and nautical finds from around the area. Good showcase for the area and very friendly staff.

We were short on time so decided to rush around - big mistake! This place is packed with ancient gems, of which the quality is superb. The bronzes are amazing,... 更多
We went to the museum basically because it was raining, a rare event this summer, and we were surprised and delighted. In the middle of an industrial-sized beach resort, here is an oasis of culture! Beautifully and accessibly presented as well as scholarly, it gives you a totally different angle on the Agde area, from the first century BC onwards.... 更多
Fantastic exhibit, beautifully laid-out. The amphorae are amazing; mosaic stunning, and that is before you see the famous statue. Great history. Price - a bargain. Audio guide is well worth it (only 2 Euro!). This place deserves a visit and support.
Was a wet day in d'Agde when we decided to pay a visit to the museum. €5 entry each but would definitely advise getting an audio guide at €2 as there is very little in the way of English translation and without it you'll miss so much of the fascinating history. I wasn't really sure that a museum of artefacts... 更多
