We were lucky enough to go there on a very hot day. We took an extensive picnic but there are places to eat and drink, but not on our lovely quiet beach. Both beach and water were very, very clean. stunning scenery.
Caught the ferry over for €9 per person return. Smooth quick journey. Beautiful island. Well inhabited but very quiet at the end of October. Explored most of it by foot. There is bike hire though too. Would love to return and hire a cottage for a week for a totally secluded and relaxing break with the children surrounded by clean... 更多
Little has changed on this island for decades - that could be either good or bad! It is quite unspoilt but has limited restaurant and bar facilities; pleasant walks and cycle routes, a few beaches.
Do Not miss I thought this is one of the best islands that I have seen calm & peaceful It was a sunny day and not many tourist about so we could just soak up the sceanery a good time to visit
We visited on a damp. drizzly day and walked around the island - enjoyable with some excellent panoramic views. A few places to have refreshments, also a supermarket and bakery if you wish to have a picnic (weather permitting) Did not visit the gardens as th weather was not conducive to do so. Will visit again though
Only 15 minutes on the foot ferry from Roscoff transports you to this lovely little island with its Breton houses, ancient sites , exotic garden and lovely beaches. For our October visit ,we hired bikes from one of the several little outlets, all of which seem to charge the same very reasonable price. Make sure you get to the creperie... 更多
We took our own bikes which we got charged for on the Ferry, but for a couple of Euros more they are available to hire. The Island is eminently walkable but is also good for bikes, apart from the soft sandy bits! We had a lively day with great views and we took our own picnic. A visit to the... 更多
The Ile de Batz is only 10 minutes by boat from Roscoff, but is a world away in terms of peace & quiet (not that Roscoff is that noisy!). There are very few cars & once you are away from the main settlement, you are in a very rural area. The beaches on the N side of the island are... 更多
Just a few minutes from Roscoff by boat is the lovely Ile de Batz. A ferry taking just 20mins runs from the quay at Roscoff regularly. The island is larger than first appears with a varying landscape from the windblown northern shore to the sheltered softer southern and eastern shore. Walking around the shoreline offers great vistas of the rugged... 更多
If you only do one thing when you visit Roscoff, you must take the little ferry over to the Ile de Batz! It is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful with great coastal paths to walk, white sandy coves and turquoise sea! If you are feeling energetic then take the walk round the whole island! You won't regret it!
