Approach is via two steep flights of steps, zig-zag paths with steps, then two more flights of steps - but it's well worth the effort of getting there! The entrance deserves close study - the detailing in the stonework is well preserved, quite witty in places and highly decorative. The inside is simple and airy, with remnants of frescoes and... 更多
This is a fabulous church, found on the main road into Todi. It's not so opulent as some in Italy, but the very simplicity of it is its charm. Recently it has undergone some renovation.to reach the church you have to climb a lot, and I mean a lot of steps! I found the best way was to sort of... 更多
The church is different to those in the area, the steps leading up create a design of angles and lines making it look more imposing than it really is. Beware the road at the entrance is in use and cars do shoot by in mad italian style. If you walk around the left side and follow the roads as they... 更多
The facade is beautiful: really impressive, at the end of steps, dominating a little square. Inside, all is white and calm ... Meditative and contemplative location. Underneath, in the crypt, there's the grave of Jacopone da Todi, a friar who wrote "Stabat mater", an inspiring hymn to Mary set to music from Vivaldi, Pergolesi, Rossini and other important composers.
Located on one side of the Piazza del Popolo, this church is well worth a visit. Apart from its painting of the resurrection it has one of the most vibrant stained glass windows I have seen.

St. Fortunato is austere and bright on a sunny day--a kind of beauty--but there is little art and we found no educational materials. The Bell Tower (2 euros per person)... 更多
I can't believe this isn't already at the top of the list! The church itself is a wonderful space with a lovely facade in an imposing setting. But climb the tower and you get a 360degree view of Umbria. And once you've been up there you will spot Todi from miles around as the tower is the pinnacle of this... 更多
The church itself is a lovely, cool rather austere but elegant. However the highlight is the climb to the top of the bell tower and the views of Todi and the surrounding countryside. Worth the €2 and the climb tenfold!
