I wish that I had read the tripadvisor reviews before we set off to find this museum, it would have been much easier to find it then. On the map it appears to be on via Roma, but is at a level below, you can see it if you go on to the bridge. From the outside it is the... 更多
Once we had found this free museum (by going into the Hotel Mediterrean and taking their lift down to their car park basement and after exiting turning right on the road and then immediately right again down a passageway, we were very pleasantly surprised. It is small but there are some very interesting finds. We spent an interesting 30 minutes... 更多
Firstly, this not an easy museum to find. A cursory glance at a map seems to show it by the Via Roma. It isn't. The Via Roma crosses a valley at this point, and the museum is really on the valley side below the bridge on Via Natelli. The finds are local, especially from Kamarina. There is a very good... 更多
This museum exhibits a few thousand artifacts from the region, from around 6 th Century BC. Although almost all descriptions are in Italian you should be able to figure out most things. The diversity of objects is quite broad -- mostly ceramics; some metalwork, including two really interesting Greek helmets; some glass; and some installations showing how the archeological site... 更多
Having spent much of the day in Ragusa Ibla and then parts of Ragusa Superiore, I wanted to complete the visit by seeing the archeological museum. First challenge was to find the entrance! From the bridge on via Roma I could see it, and so first tried the steps by the BW hotel, no joy. Then worked out if I... 更多
This museum is highly recommended, both for the collection & its presentation. Once you have visited, it is a short walk to the Catacombs, where you can have a conducted tour to extend your knowledge of Regusa's long history
Divided into periods/areas. Hundreds of artifacts and pottery fragments and some larger pieces. Several diggings reconstructed. Good labels (some English). Quite hard to find.
Plenty staff standing around with no interest in what seems like a good collection but poorly displayed in run down building with toilet out of service, no shop or services.Hard to find the dingy, dirty entrance poorly signed. Museum needs some tender loving care.
First you have to find the entrance! It is cunningly situated round the side and does not look like a museum entrance and also it is on a level below the road bridges linking the two bits of the town. We were lucky and had gone there in a taxi and the driver showed us where the entrance was as... 更多
