Been a few times now... the views form the castle are breathtaking and being so close to history is somehow so awe inspiring.
Great photo opportunities, a brilliant way to bring the past to life and after your trip there are some lovely bars right on the river to relax and take in the view.

Moorish, Templar castle high above the town. Don't be fooled by the narrow streets on the way there - there is a car park up at the castle. Small guide explains the various elements of the castle and there are good views from the top of the keep ( reached up a narrow spiral staircase).
This castle is a lovely visit. We cycled up to it (it is steep). There was plenty to see but the views from the different levels surrounding it make it a must. Set in this picturesque town of miravet. We waited 6 years to visit here and it was well worth the wait. It was as beautiful as we had seen in photos. Wonderful old castle with lots of history and amazing views. A must see.
There is a scruffy little car park at the top but to really get the experience and see a bit more of the village, definitely walk it, but not for the unfit.
The view at the top down the length of the River Ebro is beautiful and quite moving, especially if you can imagine the battle that took place there...
