Even if you do not seek dedicated information, this place is a fount of knowledge and insight. Highly recommended if you are bored by the botanical gardens and a vast expanse of lawn.
I have spent many interesting days here. There is a car park and there is a nearby tube station. You need to have a reader's card to look t the files. You will need to produce evidence of identity and address before you will be issued with the card..Then you can go upstairs and call up files. These generally take about 20 minutes to... 更多
Although most people would normally go there to carry out serious research, it is very public friendly. Anyone with an interest in British history is welcome to go in as they usually have an exhibition on, a good bookshop and a nice cafe too.
The National Archives in Kew are in a lovely location. The building is fairly new, well laid out and the staff are on the whole, very helpful. Could easily spend hours in this place as they have it all under one roof. It helps a lot if you go armed with as much info as possible, birthdays, addresses, surnames before marriage, service numbers if it is service life you are researching. The help desks were fab and enjoyed helping, however be warned they don't like or accept... 更多

They had faded with time and exposure to light which has now been... 更多

The young fellow on the desk mucked it up totally by putting my photo on David's card! Then he couldn't fix it so... 更多
I was in the first instance overwhelmed by the sheer size and majesty of the National Archives located within a walking distance of Kew tube station in the London borough of Richmond upon Thames in South West London. It houses archival material and historical documents especially those related to the colonial times which was my main focus of interest there.... 更多
