A National Trust property which is only open on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, (in 2017). Parking is very limited and there's no Toilets or Food available; however the volunteers are very welcoming. Access to the mill is by guided tour only, which lasts about one hour, but the mill is not only cramped but has a number of uneven floors.... 更多
We have lived near this mill for years and were excited to see it had now been restored and opened for tours. Not open all the time - check on National Trust site. Tour is very informative and you can see mill working. Lovely little bit outside as well. Worth taking a look for a little tour (about 45 mins... 更多
Wasn't too sure about this one, but what an interesting hour this turned out to be. Are shown around in a formal tour, but without this it would not have meant anything like it did. Was great to see the workings and understand the history, and to see it in action was great. Well worth the visit.
I was passing by and almost did not stop. After all, just another flour mill? Actually it is brilliant and the volunteers doing the guided tour demonstrate everything working and make it really interesting. Well done and thank you.I learned and saw so much. Do stop by!
Going back to the days before the industrial revolution the old water mill of a technology that came from Roman times, using wooden wheels and cogs, stone grinding wheels and water power. When the mill is working you can feels the power vibrating through the building! A must-see if you are visiting the area. The mill is cared for by... 更多
Interesting example of industrial archeology. The guides are very knowledgable, I happen to know quite a bit about the history of milling and I was impressed by the way the information was presented by them. A bit of a poor relation in National Trust terms for the area but I would recommend a visit if you are anywhere near.

The best advice I can give is stop here and have a look at the outside , it's not open very often and when it is the tours are a little stuffy, and a bit child unfriendly. However certainly a interesting and worthwhile project it's restoration. Will easy kill a... 更多
