This is a well thought out and handy museum if you live in or are visiting North Down. There are lots of interesting features taking you back to the early history of Bangor through to the in house mini cinema that gets you right up to the 50s/60s/70s. In spring, summer and autumn kids love to watch the activity in... 更多
Had a lovely lunch, was told it was quite pricey, but I didn't think so. Food was nice, my open prawn sandwich would have been taster if it had of been freshly made. It had been sitting and the bread was hard, my partners soup and sandwich was very tasty
Visited the heritage centre today with my girlfriend and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Being from Bangor myself it was great to learn of the history of such a great town. Id also like to add that it was free. Great staff, very friendly and helpful and we also had an absolutely delightful lunch in the cafe at a reasonable... 更多
This centre is in a very picturesque setting in Castle Park and adjacent to Bangor Town Hall. There is a lovely cafe, Coffee Cure, included in the complex.
What a wonderful surprise this was. We came here on the recommendation of our B&B Owner (Hargreaves House) and were not disappointed. It is free and well worth it. The museum tells the fascinating history of Bangor and the region, from the ancient peoples to the Norman conquests to Bangor's resort history and up to current times. It contained some... 更多
Came with my brother - first time here and enjoyed the experience. Probably didn't leave ourselves enough time to make the most of our experience. Learnt a lot about the history of Bangor and the local area which I wasn't aware of before. Great use of the old stables area of Bangor Castle.
Very interesting approach though museum to restaurant.I live in Bangor but rarely eat out at lunchtime,so for my friends visit I thought it was a chance to sample it. Food ,atmosphere, staff all first class. Reasonable price. Can recommend prawn open.My friends very impressed.
I took my 2 daughters here (aged 5&8) and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the exhibits which are obviously well maintained. There is a cafe on site and the toilets are clean. We sat in the courtyard in the afternoon sun, shaded by the umbrellas - it was lovely. An improvement would be for the exit to be... 更多
I went here on someone's recommendation. I often come to Bangor but had never seen this attraction. It is a bit off the beaten track if you come from the station, 8 - 10 minutes' walk. I liked the exhibits to do with the Vikings, their shields, swords and culture. It is a lovely little museum that you can easily... 更多
North Down Heritage Centre is a fascinating place to visit for all the family. It has a wonderful history of Bangor, the Abbey and surrounds. The other displays and exhibits are always changing and frequently there will be art, craft, patchwork displays. There is also a very nice restaurant on site.
