On one day I visited both the BG and Hesketh Park, and much prefered the latter (which is also closer to town). The lake is quite small, and the Fernery (a hothouse but given over to ferns) uninspiring, and the aviary full of very sad looking chickens, budgies, parrots and peacocks behind mesh which is so fine it is hard... 更多
I love this place! pretty flowers and you can feed the ducks and ducklings. its a perfect place for a picnic or even just a walk. there's also a Cafe where you can grab a bite and usually parking is not a problem either. I spend most my summers going here.
Such care is taken of this beautiful place the plants are exquisite so colourful even in September. It is so lovely to be able to sit and relax in the gardens. There are places for the young and older of us to enjoy.
The Botanic gardens is a lovely oldy worldly park. The gardens are kept really well by dedicated volunteers, bright and colourful. There is a good sized children's playground, a large lake which sometimes has boats on, but they might have finished now for the autumn. There is a cafe where you can get snacks, teas and coffees - also plenty... 更多

I was impressed that Meols Hall across the road was providing free parking and the parking was well organised. I didn't realise until we entered the gardens that the day was... 更多
