Ah c'mon, she really is something else, looking out to a stormy sea, scales of justice hidden while the sword is wielded...we love visiting her at any time of year but the winter socks were fab. The kids love the anatomy lesson, I love the sense of purpose she exudes.
Travelled here with my gird rind which was a treat . I immediately took a picture and I was intrigued what was on the other side of the sculpture it's worth a little wonder round to see the full effect of it weird strange but that's art !! Front shown as not to spoil !!!
The meaning behind the statue is value and truth which is lovely. The statue itself is a typical quirky Damien Hurst, but I can see why not everyone likes it.
This is a bit like all art, the taste lies in the eye of the beholder, I found it interesting and. A brave choice, my grand daughter who is 8 found it repugnant and others thought it was a mixture between scary, gross, impressive, I think you have to judge it for yourself, worth a look and the harbour is... 更多
I must admit to thinking this would be a terrible addition to the pretty little harbour at Ilfracombe, a place we have special memories of. However, having visited the town and seen it up close, seen it from the cliffs from the Coast Path (yes, it's that big!) and read about it, I have to admit that it grows on... 更多
An amazing statue! I wouldn't say I was a Hirst fan but on seeing this I thought it was a fantastic piece of work; it shows the incredible nature of woman. The size of the piece is impressive but a little disappointing that there isn't a plaque to explain what this is all about. Definitely worth a visit.
Quite imposing and a must see and certainly a talking point, but not for me. One side is ok but walk down the jetty to see the other side and it is quite ugly
When you arrive in Ilfracombe, Verity s there to welcome you, she stands proudly in the Harbour and every time you see her it's in a different way. I find her fascinating, some find her a complete turn off but she's definitely worth a visit!
Hi, Many locals do not like it, but i thought it was a remarkable statute in a great location. My son asked me what it was for and we discussed what it meant and why the internal organs/baby, skull and muscles were shown. I think that is the point of art, a great discussion point and a striking landmark. Well... 更多
Why has Damian inflicted his mental illness upon Ilfracombes picturesque Harbour? Oh well, love it or hate it I suppose it attracts attention to the town which isn't such a bad thing.
This statue was amazing. I'm still not sure if I like it or not! I know that sounds weird! Viewing this work of art raised lots of curious questions and needs to be seen all the way round it. Ideally placed towering over the harbour.
The hotel Dilkhusa Grand Hotel was excellent very clean good food We went with Shearings no complaints well looked after and the Driver Andy was very knowledgable about the area
