Bumped by accident into this museum while walking to the house of Manannan, it is free and it takes a few minutes to cover. First floor there are a good vintage bikes and interesting pics; in the second floor they have nice collection and newer bikes from the TT. Nice surprise
I was in Peel for the bike show and just stumbled upon this place by accident whilst trying to avoid the rain. I'm glad I did. For a start it was free but more than that it was loaded up with things to see, It was a tiny little place and I believe it used to be the old courthouse.... 更多
This small museum is on two floors. Downstairs there are several motorcycles and there are a few more upstairs with some other eclectic artefacts. It was free so we popped in on the way back to the bus. Certainly not a must go to destination but interesting enough to while away a few minutes in Peel.
I was walking past at 4pm the sign said closing at 4 when I asked the lady if they were closed said no I was free to come and look round. Not very big some motorbiked downstairs and photo's documents and objects upstairs something for everyone to look at
The sort of place you could spend 5 minutes or hours. Loads packed into a small space. Can be a bit overwhelming. Purely Peel orientated as far as I could tell.
This is a small but very interesting museum. Formerly the courthouse, there is a good selection of motor cycles in what was once the prison. Upstairs there are a lot of fascinating exhibits including a birch and birching stool. Also, there are fine examples of bone art plus other varying displays depicting life on the island. Thoroughly recommended.
