When this was opened visited a few times as very Fasinating due to the Family History even then it was falling in to disrepair. I do believe a more Open Council would Treasure this Building , and Embrace the fact it could be brought back to life. Make a Perfect Hotel , could be enjoyed by many many people ,... 更多
This once beautiful mansion is now falling to ruin due to lack of maintenance. never mind its' history - its an absolute scandal that it is no longer open and heads should roll at the Torbay Council for allowing the decline to continue. Long gone is the lovely little tea shop. The gardens were ok - not a patch on... 更多
A great place by the looks of it's outside. It's not open to see inside, which is a huge shame, because it seems like a real interesting place. We were appalled, when the tourist attraction bus just passed by on the near street without even slowing down to acknowledge this mansion, let alone let people out to see it. The... 更多
Although the building itself is no longer accessible, the staff still maintain the gardens beautifully. The outside of the buildings is still quite worthwhile going to see. Plus with tennis courts and a bowling green, this makes for a nice change of pace.
It's a shame how nothing has been done since Torbay Council moved out 3 years ago. You can only look around the gardens, and it is looking extremely derelict inside and out.
I live just up the road from the Mansion, take my dog here for a little walk every so often. It's such a shame it's been left to rot as it has. Still the gardens are being maintained and they look lovely, the gardeners do a great job.
We are very sad to see this beautiful mansion being left to rot, it used to be quite a visitor attraction, and the beautiful garden are just being let go, as are the lovely tennis courts, which are surely a useful amenity to Paignton! Someone needs a serious wake up call, and bring this unique attraction back to it's former... 更多
This is a pleasant part of Paignton, but unfortunately not possible to visit the castle just the garden is open. You can feed the squirrels because the animals are very friendly. The garden is very nice, the plants are abundant and vivid, there are lot of palm tree and mediterran plants.
We used to love visiting Olway Mansion, so much history linked to the sewing machine inventor, "Singer" used to love a cream tea and look out over the lovely green lawns and tennis courts. The building is still there but it is now closed which is sad, however, it was still nice to return just to have a walk round... 更多
