This was a highlight during a short stay over the Valentines, mid- February period and well worth the walk up from Bowness for views back down to the lake and as far as the Irish Sea, weather depending. The viewpoints of the lake from nearby Post Knott and Biskey Howe are also highly recommended, and all are especially idyllic if...
A nice walk with the pooch. This was steep in some places & as the weather had not been good previously, was a little muddy in some places. We got a good day for January & had a great view & although a bit frosty, was warm walking
Steep and not suitable for the infirm, but well worth the brief but considerable effort for absolutely brilliant views across all of Windermere. Kids moaned endlessly on the way up but were then giddy with joy at the fruits of their labour as we picnicked and drank in the views.
A good stretch of the legs after breakfast, with our hotel just around the corner from the start of it, between houses up a nice cul-de-sac.
Once atop Brant Fell, the views are amazing over Windermere and the walk down and into town aren't isn't bad either.
Took a Sunday-morning walk, to try and burn off my hearty breakfast, and really enjoyed a pleasant walk.
At the top, there are some fantastic views and not just of the Lake, but all the scenery, 360 degrees of it.
Well worth it in my opinion.
