We arrived at 11am and the helpful NT staff explained what was going on today and gave us our timed ticket to the house which was 1.10 . The drive as you walk to the house is very impressive. The short video in tent at house was good. As it was a cold day we went to go in the... 更多
A National Trust house with a very different look at life in a grand country house. Instead of the usual party lifestyle grandeur the house has been transformed into how it was during the Second World War when the owner's Merchant Bank moved from London to his country retreat. The detail and effort put into recreating this time period is... 更多
Very interesting history especially the exhibition regarding the house during World War 2. The volunteers were very knowledgeable and helpful in explaining things. They really brought the war years to life. Well worth a visit
Fantastic WWII exhibition, it was like stepping back in time. The volunteers were really helpful and it was so nice to be able to walk around at our own pace rather than shuffled around in a group. The house is gorgeous, the gardens are stunning and the cafe is great for a cuppa.
The volunteers brought this visit alive for us, especially a lady called Barbara who told us about the family and the house with real enthusiasm and great knowledge. We would definitely visit again.
The first thing that is confusing about this location is that it is described as being Banbury in Oxfordshire whereas it is a couple of miles north of Banbury and in Warwickshire. The house is far more historic than WWII times and, having spoken with others, I think the setting of further back in history sounded better when they saw... 更多
While enjoying a weekend stay in the Cotswolds we visited Upton House and what a find!! The property is well maintained, as it would be, and currently packed with fascinating facts and objects relating to its role in the Second World War. The staff and volunteers were very pleasant and informative and the grounds were very pleasant and a treat... 更多
Upton House and gardens was well worth a visit as it is one of those National Trust places that you can associate yourself with if you are of a certain age. I was born just after the war but the objects on show reminded me of the things my parents owned and the materialistic items of that time. The other... 更多

It was a delight to be able to handle all the exhibits and to be able to really appreciate the era. The view from the gardens... 更多
