The ruins of Chepstow castle are actually quite well preserved and very well looked after.. When you stand on the battlements overlooking the river Wye below you get a real sense of how imposing the building must have looked in Norman times. Very good value. Nice little shop and very friendly helpful staff.
Made a visit whilst on a day out in Chester, very reasonable entry price. It was a drizzly wet day so some of the floors were a little slippy so didn't get to go up some of the towers. Very large castle ruins and pieces built in different periods was also interesting to see hand in hand. The tide was... 更多
This castle is so accessible - just off the Severn Bridge. We were pleasantly surprised at how intact it is and we spent several hours wandering around. It is HUGE! The information is well displayed in each area of the castle and there are lovely views of the river in the valley below. a MUST do in Wales!
It's not a small castle to visit! If one is to take their time to look closely it, the visit will last long. The children will love exploring the place while running around the large open spaces inside the castle. Chose a sunny day to spend there!
We have visited numerous times and do enjoy it, especially my 10 year old son. Obviously it has the fascinating history etc of course which is the main thing but I think it could do with a lot more information boards etc telling visitors about each area of the castle especially as the pamphlet you are given is so limited.... 更多

The original hall-keep he built is the centre of this magnificent castle, which has been developed, strengthen, and modified through to the late 1600s. Perched above the River Wye and the town this is an extremely impressive fortification... 更多
I have lived a 15 minute car journey away from this castle for a few years and just never went in, big mistake! We had a wonderful time exploring the castle and grounds, loved that it was kid and dog friendly. The staff were lovely and helpful and the admission price was very reasonable considering we spent two hours in... 更多
This castle is amazing! We have seen quotes a few and I liked this one the most. It is a ruin but there is enough left of it to get a really good feel of what it must have been like. Some of the staircases are quite treacherous but the views from the top are amazing! The old toilets hanging... 更多
What a surprise. We hadn't expected such a big castle with parts still in tact. Very beautiful in a stunning location and well worth a visit. Lots of photos opportunities and imagine it would be worth a visit during different seasons to see all the views and trees.
