We enjoyed a long weekend in Tintern, enjoying a much needed quiet break. We enjoyed the abbey and some great walks along the river and up to Devils Pulpit. We found the second hand bookshop and had a good browse and reminice over the collection of children's books. We enjoyed good meals at the hotel and nearby pubs, the food... 更多
Tintern Village is a wonderfully picturesque village on the banks of the river Wye, the towering ruins of Tintern Abbey dominate the village centre and offer a wonderful glimpse into the past at the Tintern Abbey Cadw visitor centre and in the walls of the old Abbey itself. The Anchor Inn lies a short walk across the road from the... 更多
Abbey is great to visit, some nice walks that take you either through the town or along the river to the old Tintern Station which has a great cafe. Would recommend walking the river as the town is a bit run down in places!
The Tintern village is famous for the abbey and also for the beautiful Wye Valley. There are a few nice restaurants around and if you want to feel the nature, there are some walking routes. The top attraction of the village remain the imposing abbey and is a not to be missed attraction.
A beautiful village in a beautiful part of the world in close proximity to the Forest of Dean, with several decent (albeit quite pricey) pub/restaurants, and of course the spectacular Tintern Abbey.
Tintern is stunning. The walk up to The Devil's Pulpit from the bottom is a bit of a climb but once you arrive at the top, you'll be satisfied! You can see the Abbey from here and is just over a mile or so. Bring a camera. The Eagle's Nest at the top of 365 steps, not too far away... 更多
We looked ato the village because we had visited the Abbey it is a pretty little village in a truly beautiful area and as it was a lovely sunny day just perfect
Good few places to walk around, beautiful Abbey and a nice place to eat and drink. It is a pity that Rye Valley walk has to be continued on narrow footpath along the carriage way.
What a place to build your Abbey, the monks about a thousand years ago picked a great spot ! Tintern is steeped in history and the Abbey is a good starting place, a guided tour is good but it is also used for carol services, a son et lumiere, candlelight .procession etc. There are three or four good pubs as... 更多
