Really friendly staff going the extra mile to make you very welcome. Lots of history to this property, quirky back stairs and labyrinth of rooms up stairs. Street parking, Tea shop could have offered more choice, but on the whole a very pleasant way to spend a couple of hours.
Interesting to see this building which is not like the usual National Trust big houses. I have not seen anything like this (and the Barn which you can do in the same day) and the story is facinating and well worth taking the tine to visit and doing the tour.
I am a National Trust member decided to stop off on way home to visit lovely weather so had a stroll round Paycokes and the village have some great photo images to remember this place we worth a visit
if you like history then get talking to one of the volunteers. we had a great time here although check opening times as its national trust. watch the parking as there is not much
A very authentic Tudor house which has been restored to its original condition. A nice place to visit with a lovely garden. Worth visiting in conjunction with the Grange Barn and the town of Coggeshall, which is extremely pleasant.
Impressive and idyllic 16th century timber framed building beautifully restored. Park 750 yards away at Grange Barn and follow the directions to the delights of Paycockes. Absolutely gorgeous gardens and a lovely tearoom in the middle of a lovely market town, which is well worth a wander and stroll after your visit. Thoroughly recommend for a most enjoyable day out.
National trust property, which you will need to check for opening times as it is tenanted. Has a coffee shop now. Great local history of the rich wool trade of this ancient village, and the saffron trade of early times.
We made the short visit to Paycockes when we found ourselves at a loose end. We arrived without any real idea of what to expect and found a beautifully maintained tudor house. Hidden carvings, impressive panelling and a lovely garden, plus, as a bonus, reduced cost, joint entry to Grange Barn, less than a mile down the road. Very well... 更多
This is a wonderful National Trust property which has a fascinating history and is well worth a visit. There is a garden which is also worth a look around and a small café. The staff are very knowledgeable and only too happy to explain the history of the house.
