In passing through the historical city centre near Albertina, we found a strange statue which was splitted up into two parts. The monument has its significance to remind the Austrians on the terrors of war. Recommend to tourists to visit this spot.

This was certainly not an up-lifting monument, but a necessary one lest we all forget how a charismatic man could lead disenfranchised people to follow him into a terrible war. It was a very sobering thing to see, but a reminder of what happens when people feel left out and their lives have no meaning.
Also called the 'Monument Against War and Fascism', this monument is on Albertplatz next to Albertina Museum. It happens to be on the site where several hundred people died in a collapsed cellar during a WWII bombing raid. The stone is cut from the infamous Mauthausen Concentration Camp.
