A former Crusader stronghold on the outskirts of Kolossi village. This beautiful castle is well worth visiting. It stands proud in the middle of a rural landscape and presents a fine example of military architecture. It is thought that the original castle was built by Frankish military in the 13th century. It's just a shell with only one painting on one wall! Other than this there wasn't much else to see our guide was very good but you don't need anymore than 10 minutes there.
Good value for money, cheap entrance fee (2.50€ pp). Doesn't take too long to explore, but a fun and interesting stop if you like old buildings and nice views.
This is a lovely castle with an interesting, original-looking interior, and a brilliant view from the top. This is all in a peaceful and romantic surrounding. Very much enjoyed, one of the top experiences in Cyprus.
Visited the castle with my daughter and a friend from Egypt, it was very cheap for entrance, €2.50 and free for children. Our friend was most impressed with the castle and the history behind it. The castle looks lovely and you get a nice view from the top , this was the first part of three places we visited which... 更多
We caught the bus from Limassol to visit Kolossi Castle (number 17 from the Old Hospital bus station). It was a pleasant trip out of Limassol and the castle was quite picturesque and well preserved with an interesting history. We also enjoyed watching all the little lizards sitting in the sun around the castle.
Did you know that the name of Commandaria wine is given from this castle? The actual name of the castel is Commandaria and not Kolossi. I was amazed learning all these info during my visit at the unique monument.
