We took a day tour on our recent visit to Akureyri, and our first stop was the Laufas museum. We did not know what to expect, but we were delighted by what we saw! The labyrinthine turf house, with all of its furnished rooms, artifacts and farm implements, is fascinating and offers a wonderful glimpse into local life in the... 更多
Such a beautiful and serene place. The views are stunning ( well that is true for all of iceland) but will definitely recommend a short stopover to this place. On a bright sunny day, the place looks just stunning. The turf houses is something new for me. The place is well maintained
This has now been turned into a museum. The staff working there are very passionate. This is not for everyone however if you you enjoy culture this is worth a stop.
If you are interesed in icelandic history, this is a great museum to see how we lived just few decates ago. This is very beautiful house, well kept and has great view and good staff who is willng to answear all questions :) The church is also very beautiful
Laufas has a well-preserved house made of turf. It is furnished and gives you an idea of how people lived.

The church and organ were very interesting and the turf houses and implements of daily life provided a look into the past. This is an out-of-the way... 更多

It was so well done you really felt like you were there and start to understand what it must have been like to live at that time. It is extremely well maintained and the coffee and rhubarb slice we had... 更多
We had a nice time here. Nice and quiet, attentive helpful staff all in national dress. Theres a small gift shop and café charging reasonable prices. Nice to be able to just explore it at your own pace. The view is spectacular. A great example of times past. Would recommend

Our daughter commented, "aren't you glad you don't have to do laundry like that, mom?!" when she... 更多
