This is where all other geysirs got their name! Good photographs to be had although try and avoid the peak daytime crowds for unblocked photographs. A well run restaurant and shop centre help visitors to part with some cash.
It does exactly what it says on the tin. Not as far from the road as some other Geo wonders around the world but great for looking at the power of mother nature. Across the road from a Hotel and gift shop/cafe and visitor centre area, most of the tours have an hour or 45 minutes here. It is midway... 更多
The geysir does go off every 4-5 minutes (maybe even sooner) and it is fun to watch as you can see right into the water before it goes off. The area does smell like sulfur which you need to expect and not complain about like so many others did. Besides the geysir the rest of the area is just ok.... 更多
Amazing hot springs, home of the original Geysir and Strokker Geysir, erupting every 5-10 minutes; Climb to the top of the hill for some spectacular views over the local landscape
I thought this was fascinating, all the boiling water bubbling away lie a cauldron and then exploding into the air. It was a great sight to see and a wonderful natural attraction. Worth a visit. The visitor centre nearby has a great exhibition on Iceland's volcanos and their histories, I found it very informative. There is also a decent cafe... 更多
this geysir is the most stable one, explodes in every 3-5 minutes. check the direction of the wind because the wind takes all the water over the people. it may cause a getsir bath with sulphurous water.
Fascinating landscape and a rewarding bubble then gush of water after waiting five minutes or so for Strokkur to erupt. Saw it go off 4 times in the 15 minutes we were there. We ate excellent soup and drank very good coffee in the Geysir centre cafe - much, much nicer decor than the one up at Gullfoss (but didn't... 更多
The correct address/location of Geysir is Haukadalsvegur, Iceland. We enjoyed the visit here. We had amazing photos and videos taken. There's also a baby geysir to keep excitement up as we took the path towards the main geysir. It's a must-see in Iceland. This is part of the golden circle. We didn't join any group tour. We rented a 4x4... 更多
Brilliant! As a geology student I found it even more amazing than the rest of my family. Make sure you are ready with your camera and just don't start counting down! Really ruins it for everyone else!
Close to the road & parking in the geysir hotel. There is also a couple of eateries there, ala carte and fast food, souvenier shop & best of all a free volcanic exhibition. The entance door to this is hidden in the back of the souvenier shop, around the corner from the tractor. The little brother geysir spouts every 5-8... 更多
The hot shot can be seen from far. Just wait and be patient. It will come every 5-10minutes. So many people just stand there waiting to witness the hot shot. Beautiful ... Free to park at the cafe n no entry fee
