Great snow, especially for those who are used to the freeze/thaw ice of the Alps! Only a few runs are open until until the end of the 7th week of the year - then the sun comes out and everything opens up. A lovely area and friendly people.
This is the company that operates the slopes and lifts on the Äkäslompolo side of the fell. I liked the slopes very much, a little bit shorter than the one on the Ylläsjärvi side but still very nice. They have staff by every lift and that is a plus and I also like that they have maps by the lift... 更多
I spent two weeks in Ylläs area. This was my 10th times at Ylläs. Fell and the national park offer exelent possibilties for skiing, snowboarding, crosscountryskiing and snowshoeing. Near by fells offer good places for off piste skiing. Ylläs is my favorite ski resort in Finland. The best thing is area's versatiles. You doesn't found in here wild after ski... 更多
Stayed with my wife and two teenage boys. We are reasonable Boarders but the boys were beginners. This is a great resort for beginners and intermediates - ski and boarding. I thought the fact there are mainly drag lifts (button and T- bars) would be a negative for us as boarders but they just were not. The slopes have a... 更多
This is biggest hill in Finland and rices from see level to highest point 750 meters. Longest slope is 3000 meters and it´s pretty easy, so you can take your family with you all the way up. Full day which is from 10:00am to 05:00pm cost around 40 euros. Check the high season and low season prices if you travel... 更多
We booked a private ski lesson through our Inghams rep. Our female ski instructor was excellent, she persevered with me and from her tuition, I was able to ski after an hour. I had previously had 2 full day lessons at Chill Factor in Manchester but was not able to progress past snow plough turns and stops. We had 3... 更多
If you want to have real winter, sometimes lucky with arctic lights, make you trip to Ylläs, Äkäslompolo or Ylläsjärvi. They have great ski tracks with different grades of difficulty. There are lots of nice cafes to stop by if you want to have something to drink or eat during your 2-4 hour ski trip. Also downhill tracks are great... 更多
My daughter and I visited the Yllas area in summer enjoy the outdoors of Lapland and do some hiking. We took the gondola to the top of the hill and had waffles in the cafe there. There is a lovely nature trail that we took and saw reindeer passing through, saw wildflowers and seabuckthorn. People warned us of mosquitos but... 更多
Took a day-ticket, but because of the strong winds, the gondol lift, the top and most of the slides were closed. Had fun nevertheless! But remember to check their website for the up-to-date info about the weather and the open hills. FYI: The top is always cloudy and windy (cold!).
How much snow fall can we expect in Nov in yllas? We are going out on the 29th of Nov, with our 8 year old child. It's the first time we've been and we're planning on doing all the husky safari and reindeer and snowmobile trips so worried there won't be any snow!
