The drive into Lady Evelyn Falls is not too far off of the main highway on the way to YK. Just have enough gas and do not count on getting any gas in Kaiska. The waterfall is absolutely beautiful.
We stopped in for 1 night encounter from Yellowknife to Fort Smith. The park is very clean and washrooms and showers are nice. The stairs to view the falls are fairly easy with a nice pathway. The falls are only a minor detour from the highway, but well worth the time. Particularly, one would think, for northbound travellers as the park and falls offer the first glimpse into the Spectacular scenery that the territory has to offer. In my opinion the best falls in the falls route of Northwest Territories. Stunning. Majestic. Spectacular. I went down to the base of the falls and its worth the risk going down the cliff on the right side of the closed view deck. There is a rope tied unto the tree which I used to go down.
The falls are well worth a detour off Hwy 1near Kakisa Lake. The parking area is great and there are wonderful washroom available.
