It is a pitty that The city of Malmö doesnt do anything with this well located aquare. But for me it's only a place I pass. No real attractions here
The square in the daytime is a peaceful place from which to explore the older section of Malmo. There are statues, historic buildings and open space. In the nighttime, though, the bars, and pubs become the focus and there are many, many folks enjoying their nighttime pleasures. A bit loud for some of us.
This is a wonderful square with the usual statue and the best fountain ever. We walked through several times and the fountain was not always running. The Main Square (Stortogret) is just 5 minute walk from Central Railway Station. Nice Scandinavian small square with fountain, statues and surrounding by historical buildings. There is City Hall here. Slottsträdgården park is in walk distance from it.
My first impression of Malmo was made up of its warm, beautiful coffee shops that were straight out of a designer decor magazine. I find it a bit odd writing a review of a town square, but I have done because of the architecture. I like the architecture in old Malmo and there are quite a few nice interesting buildings here.
