Every year, we go to St Karlsö, alone or with family or friends, we use to stay one night, when the last boat has left the island you can work over nearly the whole island, the nature is amazing and the light is fantastic.
We took the ferry from Klintehamn, and reached Stora Karlso less than an hour later, after a short stop at Lilla Karlso. It is definitely worth it. I went there with my partner and we enjoyed every second of it. There is nor much to do in the island, other than hike and admire the landscapes the nature offers. You have to travel by boat to Stora Karslö that is located on the west coast of Gotland, but the short trip (about 30 minutes) is worth while!
