Visit the museum in Sigri first, buy a guide 6euros which gives information on each numbered "tree" on the site. Brilliant to see the fossilised trees. You can even see the annual rings and the differents barks. The colours are good as well. If you have an interest in geology don't miss it.
Yes, it is closed. After reading the last review, I assumed they were just unlucky and must have visited on a bank holiday or something.
