It is very close to Aristotelis square, and it is a great place to go to for street food lunch :) Also, i have bought a lot of souvenirs from here -there are local shops with local Greek products - good value for money.
If you want to see the real Thessaloniki, this is the place to visit. Real people selling to real people, not a show prepared for tourists. Nothing more to say.

This open market has almost everything! Situated pretty close to Aristotle square, Modiano market is a local market that sells fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, poultry, seafood, nuts, olives, olive oil, clothes including shoes, sports wear, lingerie etc. There isn't pretty anything you won't find in this place. No trip to Thessaloniki should be without an hour or two wandering this vibrant, permanent street market, set in the heart of Thessaloniki off of Aristotelous Square. It has everything...fresh produce, fish, meats, cheeses and olives and herbs, household goods, souveniers, cheap clothes and electronics, religious artifacts, tavernas, you name it, and its here. Great photo ops.
Do not miss this vibrant traditional market near Aristotelus square. It is full of traditional stuff to by as a gift, souvenir or really local food to taste. You may find dried fruit, nuts, olives, fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, fish, cosmetics, olive oil soaps etc. The prices are more than reasonable and you can feel the local spirit.

And it is a very pleasant area to stroll around and wonder at the goods and the people. also... 更多
