It is definitely similar to the markets I have visited in other parts of the world and as such has a treasure trove of hand made products made by local craftsmen. My favorites are the tablecloths and blankets which I use all the time and gave to family members as fifts. There are also all kinds of chinese stuff but... 更多
No trip to Thessaloniki should be without an hour or two wandering this vibrant, permanent street market, set in the heart of Thessaloniki off of Aristotelous Square. It has everything...fresh produce, fish, meats, cheeses and olives and herbs, household goods, souveniers, cheap clothes and electronics, religious artifacts, tavernas, you name it, and its here. Great photo ops.
Do not miss this vibrant traditional market near Aristotelus square. It is full of traditional stuff to by as a gift, souvenir or really local food to taste. You may find dried fruit, nuts, olives, fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, fish, cosmetics, olive oil soaps etc. The prices are more than reasonable and you can feel the local spirit.
built by members of the important Jewish community (as quite some things here), this market is a bit run down, but now got a new blow with lots of little restaurants, where you can get a great lunch for little money. And it is a very pleasant area to stroll around and wonder at the goods and the people. also... 更多

The prices are reasonable and even below the levels in my country which is the poorest place in Europe. There are no many places in Europe like Modiano... 更多

The market is there for a long time, but just a smelly tourist trap. Most of the products are old, lots of touristy gifts... just not great
Although we couldn't find signs to the market it's not hard to find with google maps on your phone. It's a huge market with fresh produce of the region. Fish, veggies, meat, bread it's all there. Also a great amount of hardware is to be found like pots an pans and so on. If you like local markets this is... 更多
