This amphitheater (Roman Forum) is certainly worth a visit. It's a shame that the modern buildings are so close, however when inside you feel the history. You can see all the structures from the outside without paying the entrance fee. Still, I advice you to go inside (2 Euros) to get close and to be able to actually sit in... 更多
Unfortunately not open to tourists right now, but you can have a good look of this site just by walking around it , easy to find it, in the center and on the weay to Agios Dimitrios church...It is definately worth more attention from the state...
This attraction has the disadvantage (for it anyway) of being very viewable from the streets that surround it on all four sides. there is a brochure in english, but just walking through with the imagination in tact is perhaps almost as valuable
This site was closed on the Monday I visited but you are able to walk around the circuit and view it from street level. Sadly I couldn't get close ups of the mosaics or read the information boards but it looked an interesting excavation.
Spoilt by the 3 columns built to represent the original columns. Fascinating to hear that there is a hidden city beneath Thessaloniki. Worth a look if you can hear the commentary of your tour guide
The Greek Agora and Roman Forum is situate close to Church Agia Sofia. It is a nice place loaded with history. Nothing spectacular but worth to see it.
On the way up to the Church of Agios Dimitrios one passes by the Agora, it's a nice site to see but not worth much time especially if you've been to Rome.
We saw this at the end of a our of Greece. Compared to the other forums we saw, this is not at all impressive. It is only partially excavated. Right now the main part is closed to tourists.
One of the must see places in the city. It shows much about the ancient history of the city. This touristic place is closed for constant visits but still if you are really interested in it you can cross the fences and have a look on it.
