The history of the island and indeed Rethymnon is symbolized by this historical structure. It offers great views of Rethymon from various directions. It could do with some info boards at points of interest to explain their use/significance and we didn't see an information guide on offer, just a map. On hot days it offers a breeze as you walk... 更多
If you have a chance to see the Fortezza you shouldn't miss it! It's quite big and fun to visit with children. Because it is in the old part of Rethymnon you can walk around the rest of the city when you've seen the fortress. There are a few really nice restaurants there as well!
The Fortezza makes a pleasant hour or two depending on how fast you walk round it. There is little information in the actual fort, the best place to see and read up would be the nearby museum. If you want a pleasant walk with superb views this is just the ticket. It costs €4 to enter. On hot days the... 更多
Found at the back of the old town...you cant miss it...just look up, this is a must see while in Rythmnon. Its in really good condition even without the reconstruction work that's going on, thankfully the Turks didnt destroy it all and remains a remarkable showpiece of Venetian Architecture. there is a small fee of 4 euro and you get... 更多
It's always neat to see what humans can build when they put their minds to it. This is an impressive fortress. Great place to visit if you like this sort of thing. Great views and lots of internal buildings to see. Just a few euro entrance fee and I suggest you go early as its open to the sun with little shade.
Its an easy walk up to the fortezza and well worth spending a couple of hours exploring, loads of good views and interesting areas to poke about in. We went late afternoon which was lovely.
