Anyone interested in the Olympic Games this is a must see in the centre of Athens so easy to visit only €5 euro entry and has an audio tour which we did not do. Amazing to think that c70000 people could sit in the area built in the 19th century. There is also a hall with all the Olympic torches
You an view the stadium from the open end. There isn't a huge amount to see, it is after all just a stadium but it is large and impressive and again, it's the sense of history which really makes the visit. Worth visiting if you are in Athens.
Took my children and grandchildren here as this is the original Olympic stadium . It has been carefully restored to its former glory with a great history behind it as described on the free handset you get with the entrance fee . Well worth a visit back in time .
I really enjoyed to see the theather and I found myself imagining how the Olimpic games were done in the past. I recommend you to get the audioguide - it shows you architetonic details and try to recriate the atmosphere of the old times. All made by marble, it is a beautiful place to do if you are into sports.
