Kotzia Square is a square is located in central Athens. The square has several similar characteristics of 19th century Neo-classical architecture, such as the nearby National Library, the National Bank of Greece and the Academy of Athens. It is also only a minutes’ walk away from the meat and vegetable market of Monastiraki.
Square Kotzia is my favorite place in Athens . Near to the main Agora , to the center , to the Omonoia and it's beautiful especially during the night in the Christmas time . Enjoy it
This is one of the few open spaces in central Athens, and book or flower exhibitions are often organised here. The Municipality building across the street is worth taking a picture of.
I was taken to Kotzia Square while on a private tour with an Archaeology Professor. It was very impressive as the ruins are covered by glass panels and you are literally walking right over them (similar to the ruins outside the Acropolis Museum). During my recent visit to Greece I visited the Kotzia Square. A simple square that is along the route of the Hop On Hop Off City Sightseeing tour, it is worth spending a few minutes walking around here.
