The space is mind boggling - in the middle of the city, such a large space with space for different schools and meeting/debating places - was amazing to say the least. Must see.
I finally found the Gate of Athena Archegetis, that landmark ruin you see on postcards and movies (like at the beginning of "My Life In Ruins") yet people here in Athens didn't know what I was talking about. It's on the west side of the Roman Agora. If you aren't able to make it up to the Acropolis / Parthenon... 更多
one of the best spots in Athens. it really lovely and has a nice little museum a lot of there ruins are pretty intact gives a perspective on the differences and similarities between greek and roman architecture and civic planning the cheesy restaurants that over look the forum are cheesy but the view and ambience are gr.
Another stunning piece of Ancient Greek architecture and another great photo opportunity easily visited on the way down from the Acropolis to the Plaka
Good place to stop and see for a bit. Close to many other sights and just down hill form some of the best restaurants around!

we finished our 6 sites ticket at this place. smaller than the Ancient Agora. some coloumns and ruins. very nice weather at that time, pretty clear sky. it's nice to visit this place ;-)
If you are like me and an obsessed with greek history, you will, like me, shed a tear of emotion upon entering the Forum and seeing the old pieces of Athens in front of you. The place is not so big, like the Acropolis, and the ground is even and easy to walk around, it has some places to sit... 更多
This was also included in the ticket we purchased so we decided to visit. It was very interesting to see and much larger than expected. We spent an hour roaming the grounds. Climbed the mountain/hill to see the Temple of Hephaistos which also had great views of the city.
The entry was included in the Acropolis ticket that I got. It is a large area where you can meander around the grounds, which are flat. You can see how it would have been a very busy marketplace. We went after the Acropolis which dominates the skyline here. There are a lot of restaurants outside, but we were not allowed... 更多
