There are spectacular views at the top of Pico Ruivo. Bring your camera! We walked from Pico Arieiro to Pico Ruivo (walk PR1) and back again, approx. 14km round trip with plenty of ascents and descents! Our legs were rock hard afterwards! The walk took us 5 hrs 30 minutes, including 30 minutes for a lunch break at Pico Ruivo.... 更多
Made a walk from Pico Ariero to Pico Ruvio amd back. This was one of the most spectacular mountain walk I have tried. Fantastic view. Be aware that you will descend and climb 1050 height metres, so you will need lots of water.
It is quite a drive uphill on a narrow road before you will reach the parking place from which you can walk by foot to the “Pico de Ruivo”. On the parking place are no facility’s or something else like we do have on the “Pico do Arieero” here you have a dusty parking, a villa who is abandoned, so... 更多
This is an absolutely amazing experience which is one of "must do" in Madeira. Spectacular views and neverdending stairs, but it is worthit. We did it in 4,5 hours with many stops for taking pictures and just enjoying the surroundins. For sure, check the weather before going and go early, you will not meet as many tourists as we did.... 更多
My boyfriend and I went on this hike for his birthday (mid June) and I think it's safe to say that we will never forget this experience. I was a bit sceptical at first because I had read that the Pico de Arierio to Pico de Ruivo hike had been closed due to landslides not long ago. However, I was... 更多
Took a car to Pico do Ariero. From there back and forth to Pico Ruivo. Magnificent views if trail not in the clouds ( weather can change during the day). Be prepared for A LOT of stairs. Although they advise a torch but you can do without, or max your phone's screen light. If you are really tired, some of... 更多
Loved this area, the views all around are stunning, great photography opportunity. We had lovely weather and sat and had a wee picnic at the top. Thoroughly enjoyable. Just make sure you wear decent walking boots and you will be fine.
Two of the highest Madeira's peaks, there and back from Pico Arieiro, about 14,5 km with a total of 1100 altitude meters, done today 23rd April 2016. In combination with the ongoing Ultra Marathon from one end of the island to the other, it was great to cheer-on the runners. Our muscles hurt, but out minds are full with new... 更多
There are many paths that lead to Pico Ruivo, the highest on Madeira. Whichever you choose, easy to difficult, it will be worth it in the end. Our hike from Pico Areiero to Pico Ruivo was epic. No other word.
What an amazing hike! It's very easy, appropriate for all ages and almost all levels of fitness. Some boots would really help, though, since, on some portions, the land is pretty slippery. Oh, and have some late-autumn clothes with you, the wind blows pretty strong at 1861m. And some sun glasses :) And enjoy!
