This Basilica, last earthly home of the Portuguese Queen Mary I and her Confessor is a remarkable testimony of the late Baroque and Neo-Classical Style located in the quite Lisbon District called Estrela. Went there in the middle of the Month ( March ) by cab/taxi , starting from Cais de Sodré ( Train station ) and paid in the... 更多
Must visit on a trip to Lisbon, the cathedral is incredibly beautiful, wonder around and then pay a small donation to head up onto the roof for a jaw dropping view of the city. Not scared of heights? Carry on and walk inside the dome, the only place I've come across were you can see such a key historical building... 更多
The church was beautiful and there is a large and lovely park just opposite it. The towers of the church seem to be visible from all over Lisbon but the area itself (despite having the 28 tram route go through it) feels slightly off the beaten track, which is perfect if you want to get away from the tourist crowds.
The Basilica is popular with locals and tourist alike and can be very busy in summertime. The popular Tram 28 passes in front of it. On a cold evening in Feb however it was almost empty, quiet and peaceful. Visitors were mostly worshippers. It's a stunning building inside and out. There's a shop and information centre to the right as... 更多
A good place to get nice views of the city. The church itself is also pretty interesting. The church is free to enter. You may choose to pay to see the roof. From the roof, you may also view the church dome which is an interesting perspective
Located in the center of Lisbo, this basilica is one of the most beautifull churches in Lisbon, and it deserves to take some time to visit.
Pay the 4 euros to head up to the top of the Basílica. It's worth every penny. On a clear day, the views are fantastic. You'll be treated to walking the entire roof of the building and be close enough to go deaf when the bell tolls! It's wide open, easy to walk around, and the best part....you get to... 更多
By far one of my favorite churches in Lisbon. The exterior is a work of art and once inside, you're surrounded by colorful marble, Roman Catholic decadence, and yet, there's a humbling dignity about the place. Very serene and very beautiful, very nice to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the outside world for a moment or... 更多
Portuguese architecture, absolutely beautiful, with lovely music being piped inside the church. The cork and terra cotta nativity scene is behind Queen Maria's tomb on the right side of the church. It is a little bit out of the beaten path.
