A lovely cobble stoned area where you can eat at a number of restaurants and shop a bit as well. The evenings are charming and have great atmosphere. The sea breeze makes the place beautiful.
There are some very nice shops and restaurants in this area. The walkways are done in small mosaic-like cobblestones in traditional designs. Great atmosphere in the evenings. Some very pricey shops mixed with great bargains.
Great area to walk around. The commercialization is more restrained than in other Algarve towns with none of the awful souvenir shops and junk food places. It's a nice place in downtown Faro to go in shops and restaurants. The tiled streets are really beautiful but kinda difficult to walk on if you wear shoes with no grips (a.k.a. Toms for Americans) or heals so I suggest tennis shoes if you're just taking a quick walk through.
