If you have an interest in beer and brewing this place is a must, if you like a beer in a quirky, fascinating bar, then this place is a must! I was part of a party of 15 who loved the place, the beer and the tour to a man (and woman!) The beer is brewed using herbs instead of... 更多
This is essentially a visitor centre. Gentse Gruut brew small batches of beer on site to enable visitors to see a working brewery, but it's pilot kit size and the bulk of their output is manufactured elsewhere. We tried a tasting flight and were unimpressed. They seem keen on peddling a "medieval process", though nothing about their production is traditional...... 更多
You can get a flight of 4 non-hopped beers here + 1 hopped beer. I was very appreciative of the non-hopped - the beer is flavored with herbs. I enjoyed the beer – very much so – it was different (which is always good). If you are a fan of beer try it.
First of all: if you have any decent knowledge of beer brewing you will see this is a pure tourist trap: the beer hasn't been made there all tho they like to think you are stupid and will believe it. The staff is very unexperienced and during the 'brewery' visit you just get a completely wrong explanation on how beer... 更多
One of the few real tourist traps in Ghent. A shame. The beer is not brewed there, but they try to give you the impression they do..all tho anyone with a bit of decent knowledge of beer knows it's not possible it's made there. It's a shame to treat people like stupid. Next to that the beer isn't even good:... 更多
We were recommended this place by friends whilst attending the music festival. The interior is a bit rustic with a few tables and chairs inside and seating outside. The brewery uses herbs and spices instead of hops. I tried 4 of the five beers available which were all very good. However my favourite was the inferno at 9% a good... 更多
Pop into the bar, or later sit outside. Five very good beers on offer, all fantastic, good honest Belgium beers. Wit, Blonde, Bruin, Amber, Inferno. All great.
Local brewery in an industrial space next to the Baudelo-Park. Very cool interior - I heard they moved here from near Gravensteen a few weeks ago. The beer is nothing to write home about (and you can go to any bar and get better ones from Belgium), but who doesn't like supporting local breweries?
The one and only in Belgium. A unique flavour in a comfortable setting. Have a sampling and chat about the beers.
Recently moved to a new location (Rembert Dodoensdreef) and still a bit rustic, this place feels really comfortable. No real tour but the staff is more than happy to share information about the beer they make which is after an old non-hops recipe using herbs and spices instead. I highly recommend starting with a flight of the 5 different beers... 更多
