Bit off the old city center but very close to the museums of modern and classic arts (Smak and Museum voor Schone Kunsten at Jan Hoet Plein). Very interesting and nice to stroll around.
Well kept and very diversified botanical garden, next to the park. A good mixture between scientific structure and pleasure / sightseeing. About 7 hectare
Very well laid out and instructive. A bit off the beaten track to the south of the Albert park, but near the two principal museums. Good free attarction, w.cs, greenhouses. Cafeteria closed when we visited. Recommended
Having seen a lot of botanical gardens in the world [it's been sort of a ritual] this is certainly not the most impressive one. The Gardens were an unexpected joy. Only a 10 minutes stroll from the railway station they offered the sightseer a tranquil oasis and a counterpoint to the hustle and bustle of the City.
If you expect a mini Kew gardens, you'll be disappointed but as a free attraction to look round and enjoy for an hour or two, it is fine. The volunteer gardeners are struggling to cope with the maintenance. The cactus house was the best part, in my opinion.
