I have been to the jenever museum in Schiedam (NL) before, and they are quite similar. I found this museum in Hasselt slightly more attractive though. The best thing about both places is that they offer smells of all kinds of extracts. In Schiedam there were maybe 4 bottles to smell - here there are dozens. Both places explain the... 更多
For 6 Euros you get a nice tour of the museum which is located in a pretty part of Hasselt. You get informed about the producting of "juniperus" and at the end you can taste a small glass .... Friendly staff at the entrance and also at the "bistro".
We visited this museum to learn about the 'jenever' brewing. We did not take part of a guided tour, but everything was explained very well with signs and interactive screens. The different parts of the brewing and the history of selling jenever was well explained! I really liked the flasks that allowed you to smell the different types of jenevers... 更多
If you want to learn how the making of this boose started you will get a very complete explanation from a guide, from start to finish, from barley/wheat etc... to a very tasty "jenever". A must do when you visit Hasselt!
anything you ever wanted to know about jenever. Great museum with a bit theory but also a bit of experimenting and interaction. And at the end a taster. A must when you visit hassel.
The highlight of the museum is the ability to smell the various aromatics which can be used in Jenever - and the bar at the end allowed tasting of various types (for which I was not charged extra unlike previous reviewers) - but then I had advised that my intention was to buy a couple of bottles. The staff were... 更多
Want to know how jenever is made: you can follow the proces, smell the ingredients and ofcourse taste the result. An intresting history, well presented educational project, even for children. The tasting can be prolonged in a cosy pub-area and you will be astonished of the variaty of flavours.
For me, it was nothing special butIf you are curious about the proccedure taken to make Jenever, this will be the best place to visit. It is about an hour tour with many educational audio instructions. The fee for an adult more than 26 years old is 6Euros. Enjoy!!
