The history of photography is wonderful. And as this museum have done it is worth going to see. My wife who is not into photography enjoyed it as well.
it was an informative story and pictorial representation about the evolution of the camera. Many cameras and film could be seen. Language translation was effective for some parts of the presentations
Wasn't too impressed by this gallery / museum, hardly anything of interest for me, my own personal taste of modern, contemporary wasn't there...lots of historic photos and education about photography, so good for kids.
Fomu is located at the South edge of Antwerp, between restaurants and bars. The building makes for a nice walk but the real interest depends on the temporary exhibitions that are presented. The museum also includes a well stocked museaum shop, ideal for picking up a present.
Until February 14th FOMU has two temporary photography exhibitions, one on German photographer August Sander (1876-1964) and one on the contemporary Dutch photographer Jan Hoek. There is also a third exhibition on the history of photography and the photographic industry. The FoMU is for lovers of foto exhibitions a great place to visit. The exhibitions at any time can be very diverse throughout the building. Ranging from the historic to the ultra-modern.
