The fixed exhibit on Haarlem is quite small, but gives a good overview of Haarlems history. But it is the specials you should focus on. Currently (dec 2016) there is an exhibition on sports in Haarlem: do check the website for the latest update.
We enjoyed our visit to the museum. The video that is shown is very interesting and fun. The museum was being re-done when we visited but what was there was worthwhile to see. We recommend a quick visit.
This is across the street from the Frans Hals Museum, and it was free since we had a MuseumKart for free access to 400 museums in the Netherlands. We just visisted solely to see the video and it was definielty worth it. Sit int he back row to see the 3D effects. Just ask at the front desk for English.... 更多
Haarlem is such a beautiful city, and this musuem highlights its history. Definately worth a visit. What makes it less than a 5 star experience is that all the information is in Dutch. To be fair to the musuem, the staff did warn me about this before I paid for my ticket. There is a wonderful exhibit of local artists... 更多
A presentation of the cultural history of Haarlem. Which has a super clothing exhibition - but all the commentary was in Dutch which took the shine off it a bit. Worth visiting with the museumkaart, however I would have been a little disappointed if we were paying the full rate.
The permanent collection of this museum covers Haarlem's history, and is quite small. There's a part about justice, with executioners' swords and other justice-related items and depictions, among them the hanging of a mayor or governor (Ripperda). When I visited there was a temporary exhibition about a painter called Verwey. Quite recent paintings.
This museum with a couple of floors used to bear the name 'historic museum Haarlem', but they cut of the 'historic' part, probably to manage expectations. We started of with a movie of nine minutes on the history of Haarlem. The museum staff was very helpful and really part of the whole experience. Very enthusiastic. They told us the movie... 更多
Little museum telling the history of haarlem and its affiliation to water. Volunteers in the museum couldn't be more helpful and clearly love their city. The museum is a credit to them
