Perhaps the most beautiful but useless landmark I saw. Unless the real purpose is kept secret! Try to "catch" it standing as close as you can at the moment it's switched off.
The Jet d'eau on Lake Geneva is mesmerizing. During a recent trip to Geneva, we learned that the water jet can reach as far as 100 meters. It blows in the direction of the wind forming a fascinating veil underneath. It also reflects the colors of the rainbow on a sunny day. We took a boat ride across the lake... 更多
I've grown fond of this weird and powerful jet of water shooting straight out of the lake. It's simultaneously impressive and boring at the same time, which is sometimes a good metaphor for Geneva. Takes a lot of power to shoot that much water into the sky - but then, ultimately, for what? No greater artistic effect. However, it does... 更多
It's so beautiful to see the blue lake and then see the Jet d'Eau landmark! It was very special to be there and take pictures of it!
I would not make a trip just to go see the fountain, but it is nice. From afar it looks like a cloud coming down. The Lake is the real beauty, the landmark is just an ok bonus.
It is a gigantic water fountain. But it does not work if it is too windy or in the winter months. So in four days it worked one afternoon and on the day of the departure. It was very scenic from the airplane
The Jet d'Eau is a large fountain in Lake Geneva, Switzerland. It was constructed in 1886 and is one of the city's most famous landmarks and biggest in the world !!! It is located at the point where Lake Geneva empties into the Rhône and it is visible throughout the city and from the air, even when flying over Geneva... 更多
What a waste of time but the lake is pretty Nice dangerous walk out if you like that kind of thing How do you justify the energy to operate this thing really
Jet d'Eau is one of those landmarks that people want to take photographs next to, so they can remember their entire trip. This fountain of water is gigantic, and it is the tallest in the world!. Zoom out your camera and stand far from it, or else you will not be able to capture the whole thing in one frame.... 更多
This is the centre of attention, and residents of Geneva are clearly very proud of it. Ultimately there's not much to say about it - it's a huge jet of water. Looks great from a distance though.
We were in Geneva for half day. After going for old city trip in small train we headed for Geneva cruise, jet is visible from very long distance. It's really very high and we got lucky to see rainbow near fountain. If cruise is taken alone it costs 19chf per person but we took 24 hour Geneva pass which costed... 更多
