As some of the other reviewers have said, this is a lovely fountain that deserves your attention, as each of the figures is different. There are Bible scenes, as well as figures representing different times of the year. The statues vary in terms of condition, but they are all special. And don't overlook the charming bronze animal heads! Take your... 更多
the fontana maggiore is a beautiful fontain, the biggest in Perugia, and full of history - be sure to ask a local to explain it to you, they're so friendly. Sadly it's now fenced and you can't actually get any water from it, but it's still a marvellous piece of art.
Fontana Maggiore is a very nice fountain located in the central square of the city of Perugia. If you look at it carefully, you can see it's a real masterpiece. Artists have created scenes from the the different seasons of the year presenting a picure of the life in Italy some centuries ago. If you have the chance, devote some... 更多
This is wonderful fountain, with many interesting stories carved in stone. Look at the faces and the animals, the detail is a wonder. To think they were carved before computers, before grafic designers and molds. People spent years and put their heart and soul into the artworks. It is said the fountain was covered during the world wars to preserve... 更多
The barrier around it is necessary, but it does detract a little. Must have been a standout in its time. Beautifully constructed.
The Fontana Maggiore is a large and lovely 13th century fountain which has been restored and is fully functional. It is a great work of art and focal point of the Old Town Piazza IV Novembre. It is definitely worth seeing and photographing.
Located in the Piazza iv Novembre this is a very interesting fountain. The Fontana Maggiore or Main Fountain was at one time the main source of water for the town. We sat on the steps by the Duomo for a short rest. It was a pleasant setting and good for people watching. The fountain is an attraction so people tend... 更多
Beautiful fountain in a pretty piazza. It's worth seeing the ornate and well preserved fountain. Take a moment to reflect on the fountain while sitting on the stairs or one of the cafes in the area.
We sat in the steps of the church across from the fountain and enjoyed some shade and people-watching while eating some lunch and a little gelato. Fountain is pretty, and the square its in is open and pleasant with plenty of food options.
