The museum is housed in a handsome and vast cloister of the Dominican church below the upper town. It has an enormous collection of Etruscan cinerary urns (containers for the ashes of cremated people) not all of them beautiful but an amazing number of them. If you are interested in learning more about the Etruscans (and I am), this the place for you. If you are just a casual tourist, then perhaps this is perhaps not your thing. I was impressed with the way the museum recreates the ancient etruscan and other cities. Entry here is free on the first sunday of every month, too.
The Etruscan finds are of incomparable beauty. Even the collection of amulets is very attractive. The historical artifacts of other ages are very interesting and very well described.
This museum presents a comprehensive and accessible survey of the archaeology of the Umbrian region. It is beautifully presented and well documented. It is definitely worth a visit.
We really enjoyed the Etruscan relics. Well displayed and the walk down to the museo and then along to the medieval gardens is a nice way to spend a morning or afternoon.

The museum is very nice in a very central place, very good conditions, nice garden and a lot to see, is medium small size, nice i recommend it.
Visited this museum as part of a trip to Perugia and included it on our Perugia City Card. The museum is in an old church/cloister and the building itself is quite beautiful. The collection, however, was not really up to what we expected. There are quite a few Etruscan funerary urns in the cloister area and one good reproduction of... 更多
