You don't have to make a separate trip to view this church. Its right on the main street called Corso Umberto where all the action is. The church is small and you could visit this place in 5 minutes.
Visit the place while you are making your evening walk as there is not much to do in Taormina. It is better to visit after dark and you will enjoy this small church with some lovely paintings.
This is a cute little church that takes you to the past. There is quite a few tourists coming in and out. However I didn't see when there was a service.
Well worth a walk through and a stop for drinks both at night and during the day. Lots going on with street performers, and at night live music. The jazz band are really good We even saw a wedding at the cathedral which drew in the crowds.
My wife and myself are Catholics so went there for Mass on sunday and were pleasantly surprised that there was a special service going on. The architecture of the structure was simple yet inspiring, warm and cosy. It was not huge but spacious enough and welcoming
Since the old duomo was destroyed, this one is very young by European standards. Nonetheless, the inside was beautiful and the clock tower with the astronomical clock and the figurines that move were fascinating.
