Saw this on Trip Advisor and decided to take a look - pleasantly surprised given some earlier reviews. The castle has been sympathetically restored, so you can get a great idea of what it would have been like in its heyday. Remnants of Arab ceilings, some mosaics in the entrance hall, and some excellent examples of early Arabic metalwork -... 更多

It's an interesting place but too far out. I was quite disappointed. The architecture is interesting, but there isn't a whole lot compared to the other incredible sites in the city. The so called exhibitions of islamic artefacts consists of a handful of items. I would have preferred more time to relax rather than to run to the outskirts of... 更多

This under restored old Muslim palace have layers and layers of stories to tell. Don't miss it. Enjoy the view and the cool, yes indeed cool, architecture. Place to be on a very hot Mediterranean day, just to discover how well the ancients knew how to keep themselves cool without these horrible modern gadgets called air conditioners

Do You think that air conditioning is a modern invention? Do You think that Christians and Muslims have been always in war? Do You think that Palermo is only Pizza and Mafia? If You want to change idea go to visit La Zisa Castle.

Sicilian friends recommended that I see this place, and I'm glad I did. The building gives a good sense of Palermo's multi-cultural past. Exhibits include intricate wooden screens and a grave marker from 1148 in four languages (Latin, Greek, Arabic, Hebrew).

This building is in a relatively poor part of town and even walking there is an interesting adventure. It was in a terrible condition in the 1950 - 1980, but has been structurally restored now. Only a few of the beautiful mosaics remain. Having said that, it is still an interesting building. Especially the ancient Air Conditioning methods of the... 更多

It's easy to forget that Sicily has such a varied and wonderful history full of one invasion after another. "Zisa" is a monument to the Norman invasion. It's not a big site but the architecture is interesting to see and the grounds have been reworked in a suitable style to match its history. Not the most accessible venue but well... 更多

This place is well promulgated in the tourist literature and the red buses drop you at the end of the park in front of the palace. There was no, repeat no, English signage and the cost to enter is high - forget I was there in Jan 2015. There are no English brochures, although they would arguably be the bulk... 更多

The simplicty and beauty of the architecture are breathtaking. And the ingenuity of the water collection system most interesting. We had a bit of hard time finding this spot, but were enchanted by the Arab-Norman architecture. Interesting collection of amphorae are in the Castello. Very helpful guides inside as well! Very atmospheric, particularly as it was not at all crowded,... 更多
