Please go there and see his house. It's only two streets away, and unlike Giulietta's balcony, in front of his house was nobody but us. The writing on doorstone O Romeo, Romeo... is doodled so look carefully, but it's easy to find it. You cannot go inside, because it's a private house.
There is nothing here, just a sign to say it is Romeo's house. It is right behind the Scaliger Tombs so easy enough to see without going out of your way
The Romeo's house is hard to find (even using map and GPS). The easiest way is to take the Via Della Costa out from the main avenue and walk two blocks and turn right, right around the corner which has the Arche Scaligere. This is just past the Scaligere tombs , then turn right onto Arche Scaligere. I only recognized it because I`d seen a photo and knew what to expect; it can easily be missed. Basically, there`s a railed balcony and a large arched door. As it`s a private house, you can`t visit the interior.
We walked past this building several times before realising it was "Romeo's" house. Nice architecture, but not worth going out of your way for!
This place is an issue to find, it's not well sign-posted and when you get there you realise it probably wasn't worth the hunt! It's fine if you're passing though.
This is a lovely romantic place to visit whilst in Verona but due to the crowds of people it was not the most pleasant of times. There is a lot of hustle and bustle and jostling. Yes go and see it but maybe very early in the morning before the buses of tourists start packing in.
I went with 60 girls 18-22 years .. all of them .. alllll loved the place ... it is so romantic , you feel love in the air ... don't miss to have strawberry with chocolate from the shop near by the main gate ... if you have a teen.. I can assure you she will hang a lock on... 更多
My wife and I searched and searched for the Casa de Romeo (Romeo's house). Only seemed fair after seeing Juliet's house. It was marked on the map but no sign. Why because its a restaurant and quite a good one the "Osteria del Duca" If you want to try donky meat in pasta this is the place. Pretty 13th century... 更多
