Inaugurated in 2006 and 2009, Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana are two contemporary art museums. Renovated by Japanese architect Tadao Ando they present personnal and collective exhibitions. Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana aim to share with the public the extraordinary Pinault Collection and to strengthen the priviledged relationship the institution has developed with artists, especially thanks to works specifically conceived for its exhibition spaces. Since May 2013, the Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi complements this artistic and cultural programme. Conceived by Tadao Ando, this 225-seat auditorium offers a wide range of events - conferences, concerts, screenings - that underline the will to establish a dialogue with a Venetian and international public.

Wow! Such a BEAUTIFUL palazzo. Restored to all its grandeur. The ceilings, marble floors and overall structure are just perfect to house these contemporary works. The Sigmar Polke exhibit was wonderful. Better than expected. And just stunning in this gorgeous building. The air conditioning was an added bonus. Include this stop on your "must see" list.

This was one of the last great palazzos built on the Canal Grande in the late 18th century. Unlike the interior of Ca' d'Oro, which resembles simply a modern gallery, the architect who converted ithe Grassi into a gallery has managed to retain much of the original splendour of the building, including the wonderful ceilings and wall paintings. We went... 更多

I came here to see the Sigmar Polke exhibit. I was stunned by the quality of the work, the three-floor individual retrospective that was beautifully presented. The architecture of the Palazzo is a real gem, beautifully worked and painted ceilings and marble floors and walls. Great contrast between contemporary art and Venezia's history. Ticket was 15 euros and there was... 更多

One of the best art museums in Venice, it's worth a visit for both the building and the collection. On Saturdays, 3pm, they have guided free tours! And they also have special programs for kids, to be booked in advanced.

New art celebrating old art! Old palace with beautiful frescoes balanced with modern and contemporary art exhibits. The contrast moves this palace and museum to well above average and a must see! Security staff don't smile but the exhibitions are amazing. We were able to view the Sigmar Polke. Doesn't really matter what is the exhibition, it's the contrast of... 更多

We stopped off here intending to look at the church next door, which was closed. We looked inside this exhibition and were lured in, as I assume is the intention, by the Marilyn Munro 'lips' sofa that you can see from the ticket office. But, oh dear, what follows is the most ludicrous exhibition I have seen. I was once... 更多

I have not idea what this reviews are about...I visited this exhibition ant the end of November and it was so spectacular that I bought the catalogue. Palazzo Grassi itself is amazing and having this modern with neon lights exhibition made it something surreal between modern and old. I loved it!

Usually I really enjoy modern art, but the main exhibition was Martial Raysse, which I did not like at all, and everything else was in a similar style. I could hardly find anything I could connect to. I recommend you find out about the current exhibitions before you decide to visit (which is generally a good advice). The service was... 更多

On the plus side, the building in itself is worth a visit (don't miss the toilets upstairs for a fantastic view over the canal); they seem to be willing to be take risks dedicating the whole space to an artist that is not "mass market" (Martial Raysse); and why not say it, so few visitors is a relief in a... 更多

This is such a waste of a great palazzo, it is a beautifully restored building full of character and history but devoid of great exhibitions, why?! Come on....
